About Commissioning a Painting
For a commissioned painting, I would like a good photograph to work from and to talk with the client about what it is they are wanting. I would like to get a ‘feel’ for what it is that they find interesting in the subject and how they feel about it. This way, I can paint the emotion and of the scene as well as the clients feelings for it into the painting to ensure their happiness and satisfaction into the finished painting. For a portrait of a pet or loved one, numerous photos help me realize the character of the individual. And if possible, to meet the pet or loved one face to face. This way, I can ‘see’ into their soul and attempt to paint their true selves onto the canvas!
